Cost: $80 per player made through the USTA Website. I'm trying to run this league at cost. This signup cost covers a few items: 

• Administrative Fees for the USTA

• A Jerzee Brand Athletic Shirt

• New Tennis Balls for Matches

• Awards at the end of the season for champions and runner ups

• Small Player Gift for each Player from the USTA

• A little extra for advertising signups in the Upper Cumberland and other league related costs that may arise

Description - This league is designed to be fun for junior tennis players throughout the summer giving them opportunities to play on small teams with friends and play in different venues. We will form teams for 18U, 14U, and 12U if we have enough players. League is available for all school aged children 8-18. Each Team of 4 (2 boys and 2 girls) will play each Saturday (or another day if the teams needs flexibility) in a different location (McMinnville, Spencer, Sparta, Cookeville, Crossville).

 

To win a team match, your team must win 4 out of 7 possible individual sets. Each match will play NO AD scoring in a set to 6 (7 point tiebreak at 6 all) for the following:

• #1 Boys Singles

• #2 Boys Singles

• #1 Boys Doubles

• #1 Girls Singles

• #2 Girls Singles

• #1 Girls Doubles

• #1 Mixed Doubles (1 boy and 1 girl) (This can be a 10 point super tie break if desired)

 

Team Makeup: In this first inaugural season, players may be allowed to pick your three other teammates. If you cannot pick four teammates, Topher with Topher Tennis (www.tophertennis.net) will place you on a team in an effort to balance the league. Teams may have more girls than boys (i.e. 3 girls & 1 boy or 4 girls) if there are not enough boys available in the league. Teams may not have more boys than girls (i.e. 3 boys & 1 girl).

 

Team Parent Contact: Your team will have a parent team contact that will communicate between Topher and the team. This team parent contact will ensure that the players know where they will play and when they will play.

Substitutions: This league will be flexible. If a team member is sick and cannot participate, you make recruit a substitute (of similar level) from this league for a specific match or contact Topher for a substitute. A substitute may only play in two matches for a team. If substitutes are needed for a third match, different substitutes will need to be recruited.

 

Match Times: Match times will be pre scheduled on Saturdays for specific locations. Everyone will play at least two sets of tennis, so plan around 1.5 hours per team match. If your team cannot compete at a scheduled time, we are flexible. Your team parent contact should communicate with the other team parent contact to reschedule to another time in the week before or the week after the scheduled match. We want to be flexible and we know you have summer plans.

 

Tennis Balls: Two cans of new tennis balls per team match will be provided by the league to the team parent contacts on the day of the first matches for all the matches.

 

Score Reporting: All scores will be reported to Topher through a Google Form on www.TopherTennis.net.

 

Uniforms: A Jerzee Brand Athletic Tshirt will be provided to the athletes with a league logo on the shirt from the league fees. Your team is not required to wear the uniform short and may choose to wear other appropriate tennis apparel.

 

Team Name: You are welcome to pick your own team name. Topher will check with the Team Parent Contact who will inform Topher of the team name. Season Length: We hope to have matches organized and scheduled for 6/24, 7/1, 7/8, 7/15, 7/29, and 8/5 (July 21-23 is the State Championship and we will not have regular league matches.) State Championships: This will run seperate from the league but will have players from the league. Think of this just like baseball little league AllStars - We will form teams of 6 (3 boys and 3 girls) who can represent our league to play in the USTA JTT State Championships on July 21-23 in Murfreesboro. This will be a seperate $45 fee. Our JTT State Teams must participate in a Tuesday Qualifier match on July 11th in Cookeville..

 

Clinics: Topher will be providing Tennis Clinics free of charge for our league members on Tuesdays (Sparta) and Thursdays (McMinnville) starting on Thursday, June 8th. Your teams can practice anywhere, anytime you wish but Topher will be offering free guided "Team Practices" (Clinic Format) for any who are willing to join us. Each practice will have a different singles or doubles strategy component taught to all athletes regardless of experience level.

• Tuesdays in Sparta - Large Group Practice (tennis clinic format) for any athletes that can attend. 5:30pm for 12U & 10U and 7:00pm for 18U and 14U

• Thursdays in McMinnville - Large Group Practice (tennis clinic format) for any athletes that can attend. 5:30pm for 12U & 10U and 7:00pm for 18U and 14U

• Due to TSSAA DEAD PERIOD, Topher CANNOT coach or give private lessons to White County High School Tennis players during Dead Period (June 25-July 8). Topher will NOT hold a Tennis Clinic in White County on June 27th or July 4th. Due to Topher being at Bible Camp, Topher will NOT hold a clinic in McMinnville on July 6th. Tennis matches may still be played as scheduled on Saturdays.

 

Awards: At the end of the season, we will give out awards to the first and second place teams in each age division.
