Bring THESE to Warrior Tennis Camp

Writer: Topher WilesTopher Wiles

This may be your first time interacting with a summer sports camp and it's highly likely that it's your first time with a tennis camp. We want you to be prepared as you pack and plan for your athlete to have a good experience. Here's what your student needs to bring and what you need to know. WEATHER - Monday looks good. The rest of the week is questionable. If a day is rained out at tennis camp, we will extend to Friday.

WHAT PLAYERS SHOULD WEAR

  • Shorts

  • T-shirt (light color since we'll be in the upper 70's by 9am

  • Hat - Studies have shown that a head covering reduces internal body heat.

  • Athletic shoes - Avoid the Crocs, Flip Flops, and Sandals which are problematic for movement.

  • Sunscreen - Even though we will have a couple canopies on court for shade, it will still be 2.5 hours on court.

WHAT PLAYERS SHOULD BRING

  • Tennis Racquet (if they have one available, if not, we will have multiple)

  • Water Bottle (we will have coolers with iced bottled water, but bringing their own bigger bottle can help them stay better hydrated.) We will have a water break at least every 30 minutes.

  • A Snack - We will have a few snacks on court in case a student needs something to eat during play, but bringing a piece of fruit, a small bag of trailmix, or a granola bar is what all of us tennis players do for play/match days.

  • Hand Towel - A hand towel or golf towel from the bathroom can be very handy as kids hands will get sweaty having so much tennis fun at camp!

  • A Smile - Since this is a new sport for many students, they may be apprehensive. Help them get their morning off right with a good breakfast and a smile!

  • $40 In Cash or made out in Check to "WCHS Tennis". All proceeds go straight to the high school tennis team. Please pay on Monday morning when students arrive at 8:30am.

BATHROOM - We have access to the bathrooms at the softball field during our tennis camp. We will escort campers on a bathroom break at 9:45am. We will also escort (in groups of 3 or more) individual tennis camp attendees should they need a pit stop during play.

Parents are welcome to stay during our camp time. Just bring your comfy folding chair and a good book. We have a great awning just above the courts with a great view.

11AM PICKUP

Each day we'll end with a fun group game and activity concluding at 11:00 sharp. Please be ready to pick your child up.
