SPARTA, TN — The White County Warrior tennis courts were a scene of celebration and high-stakes competition Thursday evening as the program hosted friendly rivals Stone Memorial for their annual Senior Night. While lightning eventually forced an early end to the action, the night successfully honored four graduating seniors and saw the "Warrior Hall of Fame" grow by three members.
A Legacy of Excellence
The evening began at 4:00 PM with a ceremony honoring the four seniors who have anchored the program through years of growth. Coaches, parents, and teammates gathered to recognize:
Lorelei Bouldin: A four-year varsity mainstay and the team’s #1 seed. Bouldin closed the night with a career record of 52-30 and a 63% win rate.
John Durfee: Also a four-year varsity veteran and #1 seed, Durfee has amassed so 51 wins against 29 losses, maintaining a career 63% win rate.
Ben Brogden: In just two years of varsity play, Brogden has been a force at the #4 singles and #2 doubles spots, boasting a staggering 79% win rate (31-8).
Jett Drouillard: A dedicated four-year player and leader on the junior varsity squad, Drouillard ended the night with a winning 59% record (16-11) while representing the Warriors as the #8 singles seed.
“We are incredibly proud of these four and their commitment to the Warrior priorities of love, hard work, and excellence,” the coaching staff noted during the ceremony.
Breaking Records: The 50 Win Club
The night reached a fever pitch as three players officially joined the program’s fabled “50 Win Club.” This elite designation, first achieved in 2025 by Gabriel Wiles and Marian Swindell, usually requires a rare combination of four-year varsity consistency and a win rate of 60% or higher.
Seniors Lorelei Bouldin and John Durfee cemented their legacies with their 52nd and 51st wins, respectively. They were joined by a history-making underclassman: Ethan Wiles became the first junior to ever join the list. Wiles has maintained a blistering 81% win rate through his first three seasons, currently sitting at 54 career wins.
Match Recap: Warriors Dominant, Warriorettes Tied
On the courts, the Warriors (13-1, 5-0 District) were in the middle of a dominant performance when the weather intervened. The men had already secured the five necessary wins for a team victory, leading 7-0 at the time of the lightning delay.
Sophomore Rhoane Whorton delivered the night’s only "breadstick" victory with a commanding 8-1 win. Senior Ben Brogden was nearly flawless, leading 7-0 and chasing a "bagel" when play was halted.
The Warriorettes were locked in a 2-2 stalemate with Stone Memorial when the lightning arrived, rendering the match inconclusive. The highlight for the ladies included gritty doubles wins from juniors Tegan Rittenberry and Olivia Flaminio, as well as the sophomore/freshman duo of Ainslee Goff and Kaitlyn Howard. At the time of the delay, Sadie Benningfield held a 1-0 lead in her singles match when lightning halted play. With that early lead and a deep Warriorette lineup coaches left confident in a potential victory.
The junior varsity also saw success before the clouds flashed, with shutout wins from Emmie Benningfield and Claire Hawkins (8-0) and a strong 6-1 showing from Victoria Davis and Avi Rose.
Up Next
The Warriors and Warriorettes will travel to Crossville on Tuesday, April 21st, to face the Cumberland County Jets at 4:00 PM. The junior varsity squad will conclude their regular season on Wednesday, April 22nd, in a district make-up match against Sequatchie County.
